Jacksonville Giants 110 North Dallas Vandals 109

The Jacksonville Giants won the ABA Championship for the second year in a row Sunday afternoon at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena when they beat the North Dallas Vandals in an exciting game 110-109.
After the first quarter, Dallas led 21-20. At the half, Jacksonville led 58-41. Leading scorers for Jacksonville at the half were Anthony Jackson and Jermaine Bell with 11 points each. Will Haynes scored 11 points for Dallas.
The end of the third quarter it was Jacksonville 93 Dallas 76.
It was an exciting fourth quarter with Dallas making a strong comeback.With 7:04 left in the game, it was tied 93-93. With Jacksonville leading 110-109, Dallas had the ball with a few seconds left and they scored, but time expired and Jacksonville became back -to- back ABA champions.
Leading scorer for the game for Dallas, Dijibril Thiam with 21 points( he scored 2 points in the first half). Seven foot center, Chas Mc Farland had 12rebounds and scored 11 points.
High scorer for Jacksonville was seven foot center Jermaine Bell with 23 points and he had 9rebounds. Scoring 22 points each, Ed Horton and Currye Todd.
Jacksonville Giants guard, Tony(Super) Hooper was voted MVP of the final four ABA Tournament.

Jacksonville Giants 117 Colorado Kings 94

The ABA final four was played Thursday at the University of North Florida Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.
In the first game, the North Dallas Vandals defeated the South Carolina Warriors 113-110. After the first quarter, Dallas led 35-25. At half time Dallas led 62-41. In the second half The Warriors played better defense and with 2seconds left in the game they had a shot to tie the game with a 3 point shot.
Leading scores for South Carolina, Shane Johnson scored 31 points and Mike Volger scored 19. Jon Pack had a game high 13 rebounds. The leading scorer for the North Dallas Vandals was Lee Brandon with 25 point.
The second game saw The Jacksonville Giants defeat the Colorado Kings 117-94.
Jacksonville got off to a slow start but led after the first quarter 27-11. At the half Jacksonville led 53-41. Colorado played well considering they had seven players play.
Leading scorer for the Kings and the game, Ryan McBride scored 30 points( he made 7 of 14 shots from the 3 point line). Robert Fraizer had a game high 13 rebounds.
Tony(super) Hooper was the high scorer for Jacksonville with 20 points( he had 2points the first half). Currye Todd had 18 points( he made 5 out of 12 shots from the three point line).  Bernard Toombs led Jacksonville in rebounds with 10.
After the game, Jacksonville Giants Head coach Kevin Waters talked about the win.
