The Jacksonville Giants were glad to return home after completing an 11 day road trip in 5 states. Friday evening the Giants defeated the Atlanta(Southwest) Warrriors 158-107 at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.
Jacksonville built a big lead starting the game utilizing their full court press, causing turnovers and they led at the end of the first quarter 41-19. At one point it was 20-2 early in the game.
At the half it was Jacksonville leading 79-48.
After three quarters, the Giants led 115-79. Final score Jacksonville 158, Atlanta 107.
Prior to the game, I talked with Jacksonville seven foot center, Jermaine Bell, who said he has the flu and was going to see prior to the game if he could play. Bell did not play.
Leading scorer for the game was Atlanta's Terry Martin with 30  points, A J Pilgram scored 22, and Brandon O'Brien added 17.
Tony Hooper was high scorer for Jacksonville with 26 points.
After the game I talked with Atlanta's Head Coach Presley, who said "Jacksonville played well and they played good defense. They shot the ball well making 14 shots out of 29 tries from the 3 point line. Our team shot the 3 point shot well making 9 out of 23 attempts."
Jacksonville Giants Head Basketball Coach, Kevin Waters, talked about the game on the video.
